PictureDenise Grissom Bradford, Academic Coach
Do you know an 11 to 17 year old who needs academic help?

Academic Coaching is Available!

A Mountain Counseling & Training Affinities Program

What we offer: Mountain Counseling & Training (MCT) now offers free Academic Coaching and tutoring for at-risk junior high and high school students. It's true! There is no cost to the student, family, or school. (MCT tutoring is funded by San Bernardino County grants.)

What we do: MCT's commitment to the Strengths-Based model is absolute. We identify students' strengths (also called student affinities) then use those strengths to develop their academic abilities. Why? Students who need academic help have frequently had negative experiences in school. Thus, MCT operates from a positive paradigm: we identify what is right with each student and build on that rather than focusing on what is "wrong."

How we do it: All MCT tutoring is individualized and is overseen by a certified, credentialed teacher. After assessing a student's strengths and needs, MCT offers tutoring in all core academic subjects: Reading, Writing, Language Arts/Grammar, English, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, and History/Social Studies.

How does a student qualify for MCT Academic Coaching? It's simple! Call MCT at 909.336.3330 and ask for a Youth Referral Form. We'll even help fill it out! When a student qualifies as at-risk according to grant criteria, academic coaching appointments are scheduled.

What if my student doesn’t qualify?  Call or email for details on community pricing for tutoring services.

Let’s encourage a Strengths-Based academic revolution - a celebration, really! – on our mountain.

Committed to helping students thrive,
  ~~~
